Is electrolysis really permanent?

Yes - electrolysis is the only true, and FDA-approved, permanent hair removal solution. While waxing, tweezing, and laser are classified as “temporary hair reduction” services, they can often promote more growth in the long run. Electrolysis permanently kills and disables all future growth from the targeted follicles, even from those previously treated by other methods.

Do you have to be 18+ to receive treatment?

During puberty, teenagers can face many insecurities due to unwanted body hair triggered by hormones. Teens under the age of 18 are able to receive treatment with a parent or guardians signed consent.

Is electrolysis painful?

Everyone’s tolerance to discomfort varies. Because this is a manually operated service, I will adjust my settings and modality to best suit each individual client. Some areas, primarily those down the centerline of the body, will be more sensitive. Over time, you will experience gradual desensitization to your treatments, making them easier with each visit.

How long does treatment take?

Most treatments take 12-18 months to complete - but can be shorter or longer depending on the area, amount of hair being removed, and hormonal changes. The most important part of completing treatment is maintaining a consistent schedule. Appointments will become shorter and more spaced out as we progress.

If you would like to apply a topical anesthetic prior to treatment, please do so 20-30 minutes prior to your appointment. Over the counter topicals are available at most drug stores up to 5% in strength, or you can discuss obtaining a stronger prescription with your doctor. Most clients find that they do not need topical anesthetic for their treatments.

Do you accept insurance?

While many people receive electrolysis to remove hair growth triggered by diagnosed medical conditions, it is still not a service covered by most insurance companies. I will update my inquiring clients with any future changes regarding insurance coverage.
